Strictly speaking the behaviour is the same but you would not typically drive javac from the
command line in the same way Ant would do internally. The important difference is in the use
of the sourcepath option. To get the behaviour you wish, you need to force Ant not to use
the sourcepath option. This is possible in Ant 1.5 by setting the sourcepath attribute to
"" (checkout the documentation for that)

You can always use -debug to see how Ant is driving javac.
