Subject How to control Java conditional compilation from command line?
Date Fri, 13 Sep 2002 17:12:50 GMT

In C/C++ one can easily control the conditional compilation of source
code *from the command line*. E.g.

  ...
  #ifdef(DEBUG)
  /* blah blah */
  #endif
  ...

  % cc -DDEBUG -g foo.c

Moreover, make supports this degree of control.

Is there any way to do this with Ant?

More specifically, is there any way to use the C preprocessor with
Ant?

(I stress that my interest here is not in conditional compilation per
se, but rather with being able to control it from the command line,
without having to edit any source or build files.)

Thanks!
