Contest Goals: 1) showcase best-practice use of Ant and related tools 2) glory for developers 3) develop ready-made build environments 4) provide insight for further development 1,2,4 are pretty obvious. 3 might be also, but let me explain - It takes a lot of work to put together a fun development environment complete with Ant/jdepend/import scrubber/ cruise control/alexandria/junit/gargoyle software's RecursiveTestSuite, etc. Wouldn't it be great if you had the option of downloading someone else's pre-configured model build env.? The Contest: run every 4 months, Judges would select 2-3 build problems of different types of applications and different scales. Contestants would be given all source, etc., and have 2 weeks to respond. Contestants would be judged on the how completely they exploit ant and related tools to create a developer friendly build environment. The Champion would receive honorable mention on Ant homepage for 4 months. 3 time winners would enter a hall of champions, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This message is intended only for the personal and confidential use of the designated recipient(s) named above.
