First things first.... could you give us more details about how you get a
"BUILD SUCCESSFUL" with exceptions in the log?

As for monitoring whether a build is successful or not and then doing
something based on that, a custom listener is the way to go, or use one of
the built-in ones such as the Log4jListener or perhaps the MailLogger (in
Ant 1.5).
