Yes! See below...

Yes - run the compilation twice and it will always work the second time. i 
have no clue why. i do this via make:

make || make
(This means run the build, and if it fails, run it again. It always works on 
the second attempt.)

i get almost exactly the same error almost exactly 50% of the time when 
compiling a class which extends the Jar task (i.e., it uses the zip-related 
classes). Similar JVM, as well: 1.3.1-b24 for Linux.

My stack trace looks remarkably like yours, but is slightly different :
