I use nothing but jikes (well, except with encryption stuff) and have never
seen that message other than when there really was an unnecessary try/catch.
If the purpose of the catch is to catch RuntimeExceptions, catch
RuntimeExceptions and you won't see the message anymore.

P.S.- If my memory serves correct, I believe I had the same problem using
jikes 1.13.
