one suggestion:
1. Change the write string to put into background
    "nohup mkopt >/tmp/mkopt.out 2>&1 &"

2. Use built-in sleep task to wait long enough time to finish.

3. Telnet back in and read the results in the output file.  You might do
this for example to make sure it finished and in what state it finished.  Or
to email the results. etc.
