Subject VSSGet Problems
Date Fri, 12 Oct 2001 20:24:39 GMT
I'm having some troubles getting Ant 1.4 to do a vssget on a Windows
system using Visual SourceSafe 6.0c. I have the following target in my
build.xml:

  <target name="get"
   description="Get project source from VSS">
    <vssget localPath="C:\source\Synapse"
     recursive="true"
     login="Dan,am58zOUbo"
     vsspath="/Synapse"
     serverPath="z:\srcsafe.ini"
     writable="false"/>
  </target>

where z:\ is mapped to a network drive with srcsafe.ini in it's root.
When I try to execute this target, I get:

C:\source>ant get
Buildfile: build.xml

get:

BUILD FAILED

C:\source\build.xml:326: java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: ss Get
$/Synapse -GLC:\source\Synapse -I- -R -YDan,passwd error=2

If I run the command "ss Get $/Synapse -GLC:\source\Synapse -I- -R
-YDan,passwd" from the same command prompt that I ran ant from,
everything works fine. I have an environment variable "SSDIR=z:\" set
and ss.exe is in my PATH. If I try not setting serverPath things still
don't work. I'd like to have serverPath be a network path of the form
"\\Servername\directory\path\" ideally, so help on either of these
configurations would be greatly appreciated.

Any ideas?
