Subject RE: [antlist] passing command line argument to a task

Let's see, searching for "passing command line argument to a task"
there's this thread about passing arguments.
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=ant-user&m=99346557527272&w=4

Or you could check out the Running Ant section under Installing Ant in
your documentation
http://jakarta.apache.org/ant/manual/install.html

Or even "ant -help" could give you some pointers for passing arguments
to ant

Thus, armed with said knowledge, you have the following xml

<project default="main">
   <target name="main">
      <!-- your task here -->
      <echo message="Who's yo daddy?  ${daddy} is" />
   </target>
</project>

ant -Ddaddy=Bill
would yield
     [echo] Who's yo daddy?  Bill
