<depend> does support <exclude> but only for the selection of which Java
files you are going to compile (with javac later on). In other words it
serves the same purpose as the exclude in the <javac> task.

<depend> will determine the dependencies of all the files in the destination
area. <depend> will also delete files in the destination area which are out
of date with respect to the Java files selected.

Does that make sense?
