Subject RE: I am wondering?

We use Ant to build large projects that are combinations of rich media
(QT,MP3,Shockwave,Flash), HTML and XML content. We build to CD-ROM and HTTP
servers, and use the build to 1) convert XML to various flavors of HTML and
XML, 2) customize the HTML to support our caching system which allows us to
remotely "update" the HTML and XML content of the CD-ROMs 3) Strip out
production notes and source files 4) Create multiple versions of a project
copying only the rich files that differ.

We customize Ant with our own Java tasks and using Windows Script Host. WSH
allows us to use the same javascript (for document transformation) in the
build as in our Windows-based design tools. We've set up an Ant control
system using JSP in Tomcat which ties in loosely to our Oracle database.

In the future, we'd like to add dynamic image resizing and SQL updates
directly to the build file.

We are delighted with Ant as a replacement to our previous J++ based custom
build system.

Please raise your hand (Email speaking) If you are using Ant to build a
system that is not wholly or largely based on Java?
