Pinar,

Hmm ... do you have the SSDIR environment variable set?    Also, is that
username you are trying to use part of that database?   

Oh ... as far as getting help, I use the GUI interface ... that is, I start
Visual SourceSafe and then goto Help -> Contents.

Felice,
when i tried to get help on ss command form the command line it printed
username=pbicioglu
password=             when i entered the password it said user not found. i 
checked the database connection and it was correct i just don't get it !!
