Thats kind of inconvenient because I have to look at the server log to find
out if there was a problem with the bean during compilation.

For WLS 6.0, you don't need to run ejbc. Just jar up your remote, bean, home
classes (possibly pk class for entity beans) with the deployment
descriptors, drop the jar file into the "applications" directory, WLS will
automatically run ejbc for you.
