OK, two issues here. 

(1) Ant can guess ANT_HOME when you use symbolic links, but will fail
for hardlinks. I doubt we can do much here, can we?

(2) Error message talks about JAVA_HOME while ANT_HOME is the
problem. Which error message has this been? Which one do we need to
