hi

i am really new to ant and i have a question about including
standard tasks or properties. e.g. i want use ant to build
hierarchical builds. i have seen that the ant-taks supports a way
of specifying a property file.

the format of such property has to be like the
java.utils.Property format which is not really handy for long
entries like my classpath!

is there a possibility to use a XML format? e.g. to import XML
properties?

e.g. like this:

<ant antfile="subproject/property_based_subbuild.xml">
    <property file="config/subproject/default.xml" />
</ant>

and the default.xml looks like

    <path id="base.path">
      <pathelement path="${classpath}" />
      <pathelement location="classes" />
    </path>

    <property file="${user.home}/.ant-global.properties" />

so it would be easier to maintain and to handle long properties
and path. i am not sure if this is possible but it would really
make sense for me to allow import of a XML instead of a flatfile.

TIA
