Sounds like a bad dream to me... :-]  To the best of my knowledge,
properties have always had the capability you are making use of.  The
certainly do since 1.1.

I read somewhere in the docs (can't find it so I may have dreamt it ) that
the following won't  work anymore

     <property name="classes" value="classes"/>
     <property name="distrib" value="./distrib"/>

     <property name="jar.file" value="${distrib}/ebp.jar"/>
     <property name="jar.dir" value="${classes}"/>

was it a bad dream or am I using an earlier version ...
