try playiong with the folowing jikes specific parameters

  <property name="build.compiler.emacs" value="on"/>
  <property name="build.compiler.warnings" value="true"/>
  <property name="build.compiler.pedantic" value="true"/>
  <property name="build.compiler.depend" value="true"/>
