Hello, I just cloned the git master with the following commit.

git commit c89d650 works for me. Here's some test I did with my users' ant
versions... (all on the same network) 

1.8.4: the build runs Okay. 
1.9.3: the build runs Okay. 
1.9.4: the build stops with NPE.  
git master with commit c89d650: the build runs Okay. 

So for me, the issue is resolved with the latest commit. --- (or we can at
least say, it returned to its previous status of 1.9.3 for all? hmm. ) 

Let me know if you have any test that I can do for helping you.
