As far as I can see, neither is more powerful than the other, i.e. Ant skripts
can map one to the other in terms of properties when required.

The boolean-valued attributes are probably more readable, though.

Consistency, in the sense that all regexp facilities support all flags
(regardless of how they need to be specified), would be good.
