Unfortunately it is not fixed when the exception is thrown from a task inside
<ant> or <antcall>, which is the normal case in a large project:

<project default="run">
    <target name="run">
        <antcall target="dorun1"/>
    <target name="dorun1">
        <antcall target="dorun2"/>
    <target name="dorun2">
        <echo file="">
public class X extends {
    public void execute() {
        NullPointerException e = new NullPointerException();
        e.initCause(new ClassNotFoundException("root cause"));
        throw e;
        <javac srcdir="." destdir="." source="1.5" includes=""/>
        <taskdef name="x" classname="X" classpath="."/>

I am playing with possible fixes, but without success so far (starting in trunk
