I'm planning to do this, by extending the error message in the exception:
 String msg = getTaskName() + " class " + classname
                    + " cannot be found"
                    + "\n using the classloader "+al;

Ant's own classloaders dump the classpath in toString(), and other classloaders
will return something meaningful. 

Seem good?
