Subject Synch = true and locking issues with Eclipse
Date Wed, 01 Oct 2008 08:16:06 GMT

This isn't really an Ivy question, but appears to be a common problem with
users of Ivy in Eclipse that I know.

When I do an ivy-retrieve with a synch = true, quite often Ivy doesn't
delete any jars that aren't resolved. It turns out that this is because
Eclipse has locks on them. This can even happen the first time you start
Eclipse (i.e. no chance of accidentally having a unit test or server
running that is locking the jar). Using an MS tool to look at file handles
shows the lock is Eclipse.exe.

Does anyone here have an inkling as to why something might be locking jar
files within a project ?
