If you put the name space at the top of your xml your ide should pick up
any errors before you get as far as trying to run anything (well does in
Eclipse with WTP anyway)

e.g. for ivy 1.4

<ivy-module version="1.4"
            xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
            xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation=
                  "http://www.jayasoft.org/misc/ivy/ivy.xsd">
