I agree.  Nabble is a fantastic serivce.  

As far as the argument in support of a forum, I don't see a strong case here myself.  Apache
projects are some of the most respected and widely use software packages from small IT shops
to Fortune 500 companies.  The lack of a forum hasn't hindered their sucess.  Also, the cost
and maintanence of supporting a forum is likely much higher given the volume of traffic that
Apache receives.  If your company uses open source software as a key component of its business
infrastructure or in one/many of its products, perhaps policies should be more aware of the
need to access Apache mailing lists.   Finally, if you register with Nabble, you needn't look
at it as a one way archive.  Nabble supports posting to mailining lists as well.

"Spammed" is a bit strong given that you signed up for the mailing list :-)

What's wrong with Nabble, exactly? It's basically a forum, isn't it?
