           Summary: [PATCH] proposed PropertyHelper changes
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.7Alpha (nightly)
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: gudnabrsam@yahoo.com

these patches provide:

PropertyHelper delegates:
  - PropertyExpander for recognizing properties in a string
  - PropertyEvaluator for evaluating propery names once recognized

deprecate namespaced properties idea and provide methods without ns parameter
new PropertyHelper task to register said delegates and/or replace current PropertyHelper object
new method PH.parseProperties() that works like replaceProperties() except that if the entire
input is
consumed in parsing the first property, that property's value, which might not be a string,
is returned.
Changes to RuntimeConfigurable attempt to set this object directly as an attribute value.
 In toto this
means a custom property evaluator can add string handling for arbitrary object types in a
pluggable
fashion.
