           Summary: Updating properties file through ant
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.6.2
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Other
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: vishal.arora1@wipro.com
                CC: vishal.arora1@wipro.com

My problem is regarding that while i update a key of properties file through
ant script it changes the format of my properties file and removes all the
comments and adds '\' charcters in front of url and wherever there is space.

Could i change the value of a key in my properties file through build.xml
without changing the format of my properties file , without removing the
comments in my properties file and also without adding '\' escape charcter in
my properties file.
Or if this could not be done through through ant without changing the format
of properties file or comments then  how can i execute a java file that will;
do the same .?

the code which i have written is this.

<target name="stamp">
	<tstamp>
		<format property="date" pattern="dd-MMM-yyyy hh:mm zzzz" />
	</tstamp>
    <propertyfile file="${mss_config_loc}/configuration-devEnv.properties">
      <entry key="count" operation="=" value="${date}" />
    </propertyfile>
 </target>
