Right, here is the situation. 1. Ant's main entry point knows nothing about -cp; it is an error. 2. Ant's launcher does, along with the -lib and -noclasspath options. It is the launcher entry point that gets it from the script, and then strips it out of the argument set before calling ant main. 3. if that doesnt happen, or ant.Main gets called directly, bad things happen. This is what confuses me. It is probably some configuration/installation error, because the script+launcher are not behaving right. But nothing springs to mind. what is the script you are using? is it the one that came with Ant?
