Summary: Expand property values ${foo} in

           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.6.3
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: mikecepek@yahoo.com

This Ant code:

  <project name="common" default="usage" basedir="..">
  <property name="pkg" value="common"/>

  Build script for the com.spandex.xyz.${pkg} package

does not substitute "common" in the
text (it leaves ${pkg} there).

Of course this would be even better:

  <property name="pkg" value="common"/>
  <project name="${pkg}" default="usage" basedir="..">

  Build script for the com.spandex.xyz.${pkg} package

And using <property file="..."> would be logical too.

Why? Please see my notes this date on related bug 1918.
