           Summary: alternate task syntax
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.6.2
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: jim.fuller@ruminate.co.uk

each task has its own syntax which is related to its specific nature.

I propose layering a standard alternate task syntax which normalises elements
and attributes, making life a little bit easier to create a validation schema;

<echo message="this is a test"/>

would be

<task name="echo">
  <attribute name="message">this is a test</attribute>
</task>

<task name="echo">
this is a test
</task>

achieved via creation of a new <task/>.

<task name="">
 <element name=""/>
 <attribute name=""/>
</task>
