           Summary: NPE when <presetdef> tries to configure a task that
                    cannot be instantiated
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.7Alpha (nightly)
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: stevel@apache.org

1. Take a task that isnt there on the system,
2. wrap a presetdef around it,
3. invoke it
4. Observe the NPE on line 322 of Unknown element.

Example (for anyone without starteam)

  <target name="trouble">
    <presetdef name="crash">
      <starteam />
    </presetdef>
    <crash />
  </target>
