           Summary: Filescanner toasts on directory without read permissions
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.7Alpha (nightly)
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: stevel@apache.org

Take a directory, say "/", which contains a subdir, say "root" which only has
rwx permissions set for root.

Then, as a normal user, do a fileset to enum all directories and files in root,
but not underneath it:
   <target name="path2" >
    <path id="root.dir">
      <fileset dir="/" includes="*" />
    </path>
    <property name="root" refid="root.dir" />
    <echo> ${root}</echo>
   </target>

Expected: a list of directories
Actual: a stack trace
 IO error scanning directory /root

Question is, if the fileset search pattern was just "*", why was the the fileset
trying to look inside the directory
