If a wrapped manifest really is not acceptable to your container then,
unfortunately, you need a new container. Ant implements the Java Jar file
specification - see

Please refer specifically to the Notes section, where you will find:

# Line length:

No line may be longer than 72 bytes (not characters), in its UTF8-encoded form.
If a value would make the initial line longer than this, it should be continued
on extra lines (each starting with a single SPACE). 

We often get bug reports like this and in most cases it turns out that the
manifest is NOT the problem. I suggest you look into other possible causes of
your problems.

In fact, I had a quick look at the Manifest reading code in the JDK 1.4 src.zip
and I think it will throw an exception if a manifest line exceeds 512 bytes
