exec cmd resultproperty yields different value depending on machine

           Summary: exec cmd resultproperty yields different value depending
                    on machine
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.6.1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: j9988@yahoo.com

resultproperty yields different values from machine to machine.

Two build.xml are needed to repro this bug:

build.xml

<project name="test" default="build">
    <target name="build">
	<exec dir="." executable="cmd"
            failonerror="false"
            resultproperty="build.result">
		<arg line="/c ant -f build2.xml"/>
	</exec>
	<echo message="build.result=${build.result}" />
    </target>
</project>

build2.xml
<project name="test2" default="build">
    <target name="build">
	<echo message="inside build2.xml" />
	<fail message="fail on purpose" />
    </target>
</project>

after run ant, on some machines, I see build.result=1
but on other machines(more than one), I see build.result=0
