Dominique, you raised an interesting point. NTFS performance is bad enough, but
I regularly see people placing their workspaces on NFS/Smaba-mounted home
directories--simply because they get backuped. The patch significantly improves
build performance in those scenarios.

Eric, this point alone should make your alarm bells go off since you seem to be
very focussed on build performance.
