Javadoc useexternalfile option fails with directory names with spaces

Summary: Javadoc useexternalfile option fails with directory
                    names with spaces
           Product: Ant
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: ang_enghoe@hotmail.com

My source codes are placed under a directory with a name that contains spaces
(for example 'foo bar'). When I execute the javadoc task with
the 'useexternalfile' option set to 'yes', I got the following outputs:

[javadoc] javadoc: File not found: "D:♀oo arejbModulecomsgxdccore2appinterest
ejbInterestRateEJBBean.java"

I tried both 1.5 and 1.6 beta 3 versions of ant, and they both gave me errors,
though the error messages are slightly different.

The OS I am using is Windows XP.
