Yes I am not a committer, but anyway ;-)

 [X] as $(x)  +1 
 [X] as ${attribute:x} +0.5

Cannot decide between the two. But by using '$' I think
we can resolve any issues with escaping using the rules we already
have for properties. The others would require a different convention.
