dir value does not work for exec task on os x 10.2.6

Summary: dir value does not work for exec task on os x 10.2.6
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.5.4
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: MacOS X
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: tlamarca@hotmail.com

changing the working directory during the exec task using dir does not work on os x 10.2.6

this is both for vmlauncher="true" and vmlauncher="false"

in the case of vmlaunchar="false":

the executable is found, but the directory change is not respected by a shell script so
that relative paths, etc. break.

if however, in the case of vmlauncher="false", ant is rebuilt to use the ScriptCommandLauncher
(as
with win9x but antRun instead of antRun.bat) instead of MacCommandLauncher, everything works

ok / as expected

in the case of cmlauncher="true" setting dir to any value (even a legitimate one) results
in

Java: UNIXProcess:forkAndExec: exec failed: No such file or directory

the exe command in question is:

<exec executable="./indexhelp.sh" vmlauncher="false" dir="${home}/src/semantica/help/se"/>
