I have prepared a fix (attached) for the FTP task or more precisely for the 
FTPDirectoryScanner.

This fix passes the current FTP test suite.

Concerning speed, the patch brings an improvement when include patterns point to 
specific files or directories and that the remote system is case sensitive.
I will send more details on the development list.
