Is SMTP authorization possible for MailLogger ??

Erik and others :
is it thinkable to say :
the email task and the mail logger will be extended to support SMTP
authentication, but only across Java Mail. The mail logger would remain based on
plain mail if the user does not require authentication. If the user requires
authentication, ie supplies a SMTP user/password combination, then the
MailLogger would use Java Mail.
Or are there very strong reasons why the mail logger should never use Java Mail
?
