Hmm,  it does make the java doc really long.  
As long  as we encourage  semantic markup in the "external" files.  
for example
<antdocs>
    <example>
            <usage>|<![CDATA[|  <foo /> |]]>| </usage>
            <description>|<![CDATA[|  some <b>valid</b> 
xhtml.|]]></descriptoin>|
    </example>
</antdocs>
