If we warned every time a property was not set due to immutability, then the
output would be horrendous for many folks builds.  Did you try -verbose?  It
does log this in verbose mode, so reverting to WORKSFORME this time.  :)

Property immutability is the key to controlling Ant from multiple levels.  If
you allow a property to change then you have lost the ability to control it from
the "outside" (wherever that "outside" might be, command-line, another Ant
controller build file, etc).
