FTP Task fails uploads with "550 dirname: File exists"

------- Additional Comments From mcepek@smsi.com  2002-10-11 18:12 -------
This happens for me too.

In my case I am trying to re-upload a javadoc tree from one machine to another
via FTP. This worked with a single ftp send task in Ant 1.4.1, but no longer
works in Ant 1.5.1 with the error indicated in this bug summary.

Here's the Ant code:

    <target name="javadoc_publish" depends="init">
        <ftp action="send" binary="no" server="${JAVADOC_PUBLISH_HOST}"
                userid="${JAVADOC_PUBLISH_USERID}"
                password="${JAVADOC_PUBLISH_PSWD}"
                remotedir="${JAVADOC_PUBLISH_DIR}">
            <fileset dir="${javadoc_all_dir}"/>
        </ftp>
    </target>

And here's the error I'm getting:

    javadoc_publish:
    sending files
    file:.../build.xml:115: could not create directory: 550 com: Cannot
        create a file when that file already exists.

    BUILD FAILED

'com' is the first subdirectory in my JAVADOC_PUBLISH_DIR tree:
  javadoc/com/smsi/common/...

I've tried deleting the tree first using <ftp action="del"...>, but I can't
make that work for some other reason.

The ignoreNonCriticalErrors="yes" workaround DOES get me by for now.
