I think all the reports here as well as those on the mailing lists indicate it
is a bug in IBM's JIT that has been fixed in IBM's JDK 1.3.1 - and that is
triggered by Ant in some way.
Not an Ant bug, workaround is to upgrade the JDK or turn of the JIT.
