Sorting FileSet results

           Summary: Sorting FileSet results
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.5
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: ant-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: craig@brumfield.com

I am using the new Checksum task to calculate a checksum for a list of files.
The list of files to include are specified using a FileSet. However, the
checksum that is calculated is difference when run on the same files in
different directories (or on another system) because the order in which the
files are processed is not predictable. I have tested a change to the Checksum
task that sorts the list of files first and this does indeed, fix the problem.
I think a better place for this change would be in the FileSet task. Another
property (sort=ascending|descending|directory) would control if results are
sorted or not, and in which order. This may be useful when using FileSet with
other tasks in addition to Checksum.

Thanks,
CB
