Command line parameter problems

           Summary: Command line parameter problems
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.5
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: ant-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: Andrew.Premdas@teleca.com

When processing command line parameters (using <arg />) Ant will put quotes
around the parameter if it has a space in it. This default behaviour makes it
impossible to construct complex parameters. For example I want to use my build
script to start Tomcat and need the following parameter.

-Duser.dir="C:\Java\Apache Tomcat 4.0"

With Ant I can only produce

"-Duser.dir="C:\Java\Apache Tomcat 4.0""

The addition of a noQuotes property for arg could solve this e.g.

<arg value=-Duser.dir="C:\Java\Apache Tomcat 4.0" noQuotes="true" />
