There was a problem in Maven when Crimson was in use with the JUnitreport task.  
A lot of output was generated in the system-out element, which crimson didn't like at 
all.  
However, having system-out as CDATA "fixed" the problem (as did changing to Xerces). 
 
Anyway, IMHO system-out and system-err are good candidates for CDATA anyway, 
patch to follow.
