out of memory?

           Summary: out of memory?
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.4
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: ant-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: bedal@mw.narzan.com

Using ant to run rather big project (total volume of ant files >400k) I
inevitably get 'out of memory' or just 'exception in thread Main' messages.

Usually this happens not far from the end of the whole build process
running 'jar' task. That jar may be a little and that task being started alone
works ok.

I gave to Java a lot of memory: -Xmx256m -Xms64m -Xss96m , total of 1266 Mb of
memory was useŚ - nothing changed :-(

I've changed ant version from 1.4 to 1.4.1 without success.
