org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.Manifest cuts lines at 70 chars

Summary: org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.Manifest cuts lines at 70
                    chars
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.4.1
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: ant-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: joe.pullen@espalier.com

The "jar" ant tasks uses the org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.Manifest which restricts the
length of a entry in the MANIFEST.INF to MAX_LINE_LENGTH (70). This restriction means that

classpath entries are truncated.

Please could you advise if 70 is a restriction of jar files
or just a bug in the org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.Manifest source ?

Thanks,
Joe
