Condition failes with a wierd error if no property attribute is found

I am writing a test case for condition, here is the first bug found

this test
    <condition >
      <equals arg1="a" arg2="a" />
    </condition>

gives this result
condition-incomplete:
[condition] Error in class org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.ConditionTask

BUILD FAILED
D:\Java\Ant\jakarta-ant\src\etc\testcases\taskdefs\condition.xml:14: java.lang.
eflect.InvocationTargetException

when it should be saying "you left out property, idiot"
