I am reasonably happy with these. They do make things more consistent
between exec and java. I'd make two changes to the docs, which are easily
done
 a) mention that timeout only matters in a new JVM
 b) add some examples
...then add the stuff in ExecuteTask to note timeouts and print them.

I can do these before commiting the changes. Some tests would be nice too,
but I could use some help there.

What does everyone else think?

ps, thomas, you know you can add the patch into the bugzilla archive as an
alternate submission mechanism?
